How I'm Using My 3 College Degrees to Create Keepsake-worthy Watercolor Portraits of Your Pets

I am joyous to announce that I earned 3 degrees in 3 years & graduated with highest honors with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, & a Degree in Biblical Studies from Calvary University. I'm excited to share a few things I've learned in this journey, along with what that looks like for Melane & Co.

1. THE AMOUNT OF WORK THAT CAN BE COMPLETED IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME

   
   

I wrote hundreds of pages, read multiple books, & finished big projects in a matter of days. Sometimes, I’d finish my work well in advance (or very late into the night - or early in the morning depending on who you ask) so that I could be there for my friends’ and family’s milestones as well as business ventures. I’ll never forget going to a conference in Florida, where I attended business keynotes & sessions during the day, then read textbooks at night. I loved it. 

There were multiple weeks when I wondered if I would get all of my work done in time because of the amount of assignments or because of unexpected life events. Yet, God carried me through. I never missed a deadline for an academic project (or painting!). 

2. BOOK LAUNCHES

Speaking of deadlines, my mom never missed a deadline when it came to writing her book! Even when she battled pneumonia, genetic heart disease, mono, & other health concerns. 

It was such an honor to help launch (& create illustrations for) my mom’s AWARD-WINNING, BESTSELLING book, The Good Mom Trap: Break the LIE That GOOD Parenting Creates GODLY Kids.

Launching her book was a part of my senior project as an undergraduate at Calvary University! I loved being one of the first to read her book. I also created watercolor illustrations for her book within a few days, led the creative direction of her book/brand photoshoot, & headed her launch team of 75+ women.

Per the name of this section, did you happen to notice that I said book launches? That’s right… Mom is currently writing her SECOND book! I can’t wait to create illustrations for her upcoming book, lead another amazing launch team (with old & new friends), & do all the extra things. 3. (NEW) PET PORTRAIT PACKAGES

I’m excited to announce Melane & Co.’s newest launch, Pet Portrait Packages! One of my best friends recently asked me, “what are you most looking forward to after you graduate?”

What a great question.

There’s a lot I’m looking forward to taking on, & each endeavor is exciting in its own way. For one, I can’t wait to have more time with my family. I also have a list of shows & movies that I want to watch with them. I'm a maid of honor for a very special wedding happening in the fall (the groom got a Melane & Co. pet portrait for his fiancé shortly after they became boyfriend & girlfriend — to gentlemen reading this, do take notes!). I also have On Eagle’s Wings Gala to help, sponsor, & attend.

I’m excited for it all.
