The ONE Question My Parents Always Taught Me to Consider Before Making a Decision (& How It Relates to Pet Portraits)

Many people don’t know that I am incredibly conscious with how I spend my money.
When I invest in something, I make sure it is something I’ll use months, years, & even decades later.
Growing up, there were many events that caused me to be particular with my financial decisions. My family always seemed to have unwanted surprises that made us dig into the bank account, which taught me how important it was to have some savings stored for a “rainy day.”
Yet, whenever I had a dream that required a significant investment, I turned to prayer, fundraisers, hard work, & this one question…
“What would you want to do if money weren’t an object?,” my parents always asked.
“But it is,” I had protested.
“What if it wasn’t?,” my parents reinforced.
“Well, I would want [X,Y, Z].”
“Then let’s see what can be done to make that happen.”
One of the best lessons that my parents have taught me is to stop viewing money as a barrier & start seeing my top-of-the-list dream as a legitimate option.
Sometimes that meant that God blessed me with an unexpected, fully-paid gift.
Other times, that meant that I would raise thousands of dollars to meet my goals.
The point is, my dreams were possible.
When you see my original artwork, what would be your dream painting that you’d like me to create for you?
What if money were not an object?
You may be thinking, “Marissa... I wish, but money is an object.”
I understand.
Money is an object, but as with any investment, it is not the only object.
What if I told you that, when my customers receive their pet portraits, they're not thinking about how much the painting was, but how valuable their furry family members are.
Melane & Co. pet portraits aren't the kind of art pieces that are seasonal decor... they're timeless, heirloom-worthy masterpieces that can be passed down for generations.

You don't want to make investments that are only treasured for a short amount of time.
You want to have investments that you'll cherish forever.
Let's make that happen.
